Do our kids ever really understand just how much we love them?  I wonder if they ever really grasp the never ending number of times we will go to bat for them.  The pride we have in their accomplishments.  The worry . . . yes . . . that’s there.  But the joy we take in celebrating some of their smallest victories.

So when my friend’s son became a father for the first time she said to him, “You don’t know how much I love you . . . . but you will.”

Recently he called and shared something funny about his little girl and then he simply said, “Mom, I know how much you love me.  Now . . . I know.”

I love that.  I thought you would too.
